If you visited on Friday you were privy to the Teacher's Rules of 1872 in rural Wisconsin. Seems quite a few of us, myself included, would have never made it as a teacher in the stone ages.

Thankfully the community gathered together and re-issued a code of condust in 1915. Go ahead click on it to read it in all it's glory then tell me if they could ever pay you enough to teach back then.

Nope ~ still couldn't have been a teacher!

OK, I could live with the no men thing (did they have, ummm... 'toys' back then? ;)... but NO ICE CREAM?! That's just cruel!

What up with the whole no-man thing? Didn't they ridicule such women for being spinsters? Ya couldn't win!

I could never receive enough money to teach. It is a calling not a job. I think teacher's are awesome, I certainly could not do it.
