Once again participating in Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta!

For those of us who live in the rural Midwest we've always known it's never been easy living here. I give you example A (click on it to read without causing number 11's on your forehead!):

P.S. I dare say I am over the flu/cold/sinus hell of the last couple of weeks but knowing I nearly slipped on the ice puddle inside of my garage today I can tell it's going to be one heck of a "healthy" fight this year. Let's all hope this years Farmers Almanac is wrong.

Damn. Glad I wasn't a teacher back then. Female teachers couldn't court... that sucks. And I wonder why getting shaved in a barber shop would call into question anyone's integrity? Good lord, can you imagine how they'd look upon bikini waxes?! Yikes!

Glad you're feeling better... sorry you slipped... I had a slippy morning, too... long story... and it involves a goose.

  2. A MEN! Last year was the record snow but not as cold. This year we are getting the bitter cold and the snow. What's up with that?

  3. And teachers today say they don't get paid enough!

Those barber shops were a hotbed of amoral freaks evidently.

P.S. There's an award for you at my site.

Don't tell me the Almanach says a hard winter... it'll kill me!!!

I have to send that to a good friend who's a teacher. Oy!

The marrying and unseeming conduct is a freakin' riot!!! I would have lasted all of five seconds. No, four.

This is my first stop to your blog and I really enjoyed reading the oldtime rules for teachers! Hilarious, but SO strict!

An ice puddle in your garage? Brrrrr. One of my girl's teachers told me that there were staff meetings at their previous school for teachers admonishing them on the dress code. It seemed that high heels and gold lame mini skirts weren't conducive to a positive learning environment - HA! (This was in Colombia)

Thanks for being such a kind commenter!

  9. Ouch! First I can hardly bear really cold weather. It's 34 degrees outside right this second. That's way cold enough. So hats off to you for taking on the cold climate.

Second, salt! I hope you are salting your sidewalks and garage floor and everywhere deadly ice can creep.

Mom's and teachers have the hardest jobs with the least respect...what's up with that!? Sorry to hear about all the cold and snow.

Wow.....what a ridiculous list. Glad I was not born during those times.....I might have been stoned to death or something.

I'm glad you are feeling better....sinuses are worse in the Midwest...it sucks. I was sick sooo much last year....try going to an ENT to get things under control if you keep getting them....it may be due to something else, mine were caused by acid reflux...who knew????
