After a few curious days with a milky like consistancy of water in the swimming pool (disgusting!) and multiple frantic chemical shopping sprees at the local pool store, it's nice to spend a 80 degree Saturday afternoon swimming (in clear water) with the kids. Just when I thought the afternoon couldn't get any better we decided to make rice crispy squares for our afternoon snack.

Yeah ~ sunny Saturday's poolside ROCK!

Wow that does sound like a pretty good Saturday. Here in CO we are having a rainy Saturday, so I made the best of it and have been curled up on the couch with a book. :) Turned out to be a pretty good day for me. :)

What do you use to get rid of pond scum in the pool? I've got a fountain that's been relatively clear all summer, and now the water is starting to turn green. I got a bottle of something or other from the hardware store, but it's not really working very well. :(

Veggie Mom - Start with testing the water ph levels with tester strips. The chemicals won't kill the scum/algae/junk if the ph is too high. If you have fish in the pond I would suggest taking a pint of water into a fish store. Only chlorinate at night - sun deactivates it. We have changed our filter twice in the last week due to high 'gunk' in the filter.
